Our GPs receive many requests for reports from patients but do not have a contractual obligation to fill in these reports and all reports/letters/forms attract a fee. These items are Private work and not NHS work.
In light of this, you will have been informed of the cost of the work when you requested your medical information. If the receptionist is unable to tell you the fee at that time, due to the work being of a nature the surgery has not seen previously, then you will receive a call from an administrator prior to the work being carried out, to advise you of the fee.
Please be aware that under the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 your request may not be ready for collection until a month after it is submitted to the surgery.
Please do not contact the surgery to chase your report until close to the end of the month timescale as your request is likely to be with the GP for action and we will call you when it is ready for collection.
